From Our Customers....
"Pixmonix is a great service and saved us a lot of time and headaches after we acquired a large slide collection, all their work was first class."
- C.W. Eldridge, Historian
"We received the boxes and I have looked over the disks. They look great. Thank you so much for the great work and quick turn around. We will certainly use you again and refer people to you for slide scanning."
"I was on a deadline, and unfamiliar with the photographic media I needed formatted. I searched for several vendors and finally got in contact with Pixmonix. Steve and his crew provided expert resources, in a timely manner and helped me out in a bind. They were more than willing to work with me to make sure I received the product exactly as I had ordered, and for a fraction of the cost at which other companies were charging. Steve and the whole Pixmonix crew is a great team to work with and I will continue to give them my business in the future."
- Scott Koerner
"Pixmonix Really Delivers!
- Deborah O'Rielly,
"Just a note to thank you for the excellent work you've done for our residency program. The quick turnaround and willingness to work with us on naming conventions saved us time and effort on our part.
- Scott Shaffer
Digital Image File Format Considerations
We can return digital images in TIFF or JPEG format. We can return multiple file formats (e.g., JPEG and TIFF) for an additional cost if you want more than one file type. We can provide edited and unedited image files as well for an additional cost. TIFF files aren't compressed allowing for a lossless digital image. JPEG files are compressed allowing for a better use of storage space. We will work with you to determine the best formats for your project. We normally return images in JPEG format unless you specifically request TIFF files.
We are happy to return images on an external hard drive. You can provide us with a personal external hard drive, or purchase one from us. If you send us your external hard drive, be sure to include all necessary power cables and wires to plug it into our computer via USB port. All customer drives need to be blank when received because we reformat all drives during our transfer process.
If you have other requirements for the digital image files resulting from your project, please let us know.
Film and Digital Image Security
Additionally, we hold the raw and processed scanned digital images on our servers after returning materials to you. Our storage servers are not accessible from the Internet and use redundant storage mechanisms to avoid problems due to hardware failures. These factors provide and extra level of assurance that your images will not be lost due to problems in transit (though this has never happened).
We offer a lot of flexibility to meet your needs. We can return thousands of images each week, or we are happy to work on projects over longer periods. Our resources are highly scalable for large projects. When you have determined specific goals and schedules for your project, we will work with you to develop a digitization timeline that meets your targets.
