Questions involving color management are among the most common technical questions that we face at Pixmonix. Often, I recommend books to people to help make sense of this topic.

To add to the information that we have on the website about color management (including a review of Fraser’s Color Management book), we have added a book review of Color Management in Digital Photography by Brad Hinkel. This is a great book for people new to color management.

If you thought that you hadn’t had contact with manipulated digital images, direct from the world headquarters of looks above everything else, there is an LA Times article on retouching of photos of models and celebrities for publication. It is scary how easy this stuff is to do with the current software and services available to everyone for a pittance.

There is an interesting article in this month’s Scientific American magazine. You can see the online version here. The article describes how forensic experts detect digital doctoring of images.

I love this magazine. I just wish that I had enough time to actually read the whole thing each month – and understand it all.
